A week of Firsts!

Friday 7.24.09 - Haiden woke up with a runny nose. Thankfully it only lasted one day - now she's all stuffed up. I don't handle snot well, and it wasn't bad this time.

Monday 7.27.09 - HAIDEN turned 8 months old and she began rolling over from her back to her tummy....now she's all over the place rolling and scootching. She's not content to sit and play anymore and man, it's tiring.

Monday 7.27.09 - She also was given a firm NO and tap on the hand when eating - she's starting to throw tantrums during meal time. She smiled and laughed at me...ugh. She doesn't get it yet.

All week- Surviving 100 degree heat! Man it's been hot this week! We bought a window AC unit for our room so it's been Jason, Haiden and I, the dog and cat too, all trying to sleep in a somewhat cooler (80 degrees) room.

Thursday 7.30.09 - Haiden woke up with a tooth! It's barely through on the bottom, but it explains the runny nose and whining all week. It's fun seeing her learn and grow, but I'm having a hard time this week as she moves on to the next stage...I have absolutely LOVED the last 2-3 months...and I'm really going to miss them.

Thursday 7.30.09 - Grandma Holly and GRandpa "David" came and brought popcicles! Yum! It was so warm, we didn't care about the sugar and artificial flavors, we gave her some bananna popcicle anyway, and she gobbled it right up!

Saturday 8.1.09 - She was acting up during breakfast again so I told her NO and tapped her hand a bit harder...she looked at me, welled up with tears, and burst out crying. We made it through the meal....and then it was time to get dressed - Time for another round of learning...She likes to sctatch and pull on the paintings in her room, so again i told her NO and then tapped on her hand. She laughed until i did it again with a slightly deeper NO. This went on for a while. Grab the painting, get scolded...cry...Grab the painting, get scolded...cry. It just KILLED me to see her getting her feelings hurt - but i guess she needs to learn. It didn't take long for me to remove her from the place where she could reach them - i didn't want to tempt her anymore.

Our little girl is growing up so fast - I'm doing my best to stop, enjoy each of these moments, take pictures, and not dwell on how fast it's going by... oh ya, for your laughter...here's my bad mom moment of the day - i just had to take a picture!

(i turned away to put something in the kitchen....i guess she's getting too big for the swing!)
